Happy New Year

January 7, 2010

Happy New Year, did you have a good one?  I spent mine with the boy and his family, it was a nice way to bring in the new year.  This year one of the resolutions I have made is to try and embrace the way I look.  I don’t know about you out there but I get hung up on the idea of perfection.  My idea of perfection when it comes to me and my body is very tainted by what I see in the magizines and the memory of what I was like when I was 16.  Now that I have ‘grown up’ I’m not massive but I am no longer stick thin, I have curves and sometimes I struggle to accept that I no longer have legs like Bambi.  This isn’t right, I shouldn’t feel like this at all and yet I know I’m not the only girl who does feel like this.  So this year I will strive to accept me as I am, stop trying to conform to fashions that will never suit my figure and develope my own sense of style that suits me rather than the catwalk.

This year I will experiment and learn to have fun with how I look.  I’m super excited for 2010.  Hope you are too.

Floral Fixation

November 30, 2009

Recently I bought a beautiful floral scarf, it kind of reminds me of Russian folk art, The first day I wore it I wore it with a floral tea dress and one of my favourite coats, which is lined with floral material and is adorned with a beautiful floral brooch.

Today I have become enarmoured with a beautiful floral necklace, my obsession with florals is verging on dangerous, I may soon become a walking garden.

Tonight I Made A List

November 29, 2009

It’s a list of things that I want but prolly won’t ever get, it’s still fun to dream.

One of the things I want is a drawer full of beautiful hosery and little socks to wear with brogues.  These beauties are right up my street:

So pretty and feminine.  Betsy Johnson you always manage to knock my socks off (terrible pun definatly intended)

Lovely things

November 25, 2009

I have ‘the want’ big time.  Look at these lovely little things:

1.Little toy boat necklace

I love this little boat for many reasons: it reminds me of Max’s boat from ‘Where the Wild Things Are’, I am kind of in love with the sense of adventure it conveys and it reminds me of the unknown and I adore the little wave.  Yellow Goat

2. How insanely amazing is this diary?!

Stunning, gorgeous, fantastic.  I want to keep an art journal/doodle journal/writing journal/inspiration diary.  I adore this Moleskin.  Amazon

3.  Oh no… where will I keep it though… how about this amazing satchel?

This is actually great.  I love the sunny colour. The Cambridge Satchel Company

All these things seem like props I will need for an adventure :)   Life is a pretty unusual and interesting thing.

These Boots Are Made For Walking

November 21, 2009

This week I bid farewell to a pair of boots that I loved, I was going to replace them with the exact same pair but I’ve fallen in love with these Urban Outfitters boots:

I adore the vintage look and the fact that they are flats.  I think I must add them to my collection.  LOVE

Pretty Petals

November 15, 2009

I am a big fan of the quirky whimsy head wear as anyone who has ever seen me rocking a massive bow will understand.  I am a missive fans of these little bobby pins from Petals:

Such a pretty colour, they look so delicate and would look lovely styled into a wedding hair style were you that way inclined.  I think they are simply smashing (and as we fast approach the festive season they’d make a swell present for your sister).

I’ll be back with gift guides this week, one for boys and one for girls.  I love Christmas shopping, so much fun.

Get Knitted Out

November 8, 2009

I have always had a thing for chunky knits.  The weather this weekshows that we are flying into winter (where has Autumn gone!!) and just to prove it it’s been super cold.  Oh how I would love to have one of these babies to wrap up warm in:

Yokoo‘s shop is full of wonder, if you like you’re knits big and making a statement check it out.  She has amazing style as well, her haircut is awesome.

You Give Me A Frill

November 6, 2009

There are awesome date dresses over at Nadinoo’s shop on Etsy, may i suggest to get you’re mouse over there and check it out?!

I love how feminine and pretty these dresses are.  They are the perfect dresses to go out with the intention of knocking your boy dead… I love the texture and prints on the dresses, there’s just something very simple and sexy about these dresses, very sensory.  Simply Lovely.

Frankly my Deer

November 3, 2009

I have a thing for charming tea towels, and they don’t come more charming than this:

A) It’s green

B) It has a deer on it

C) It has a cute little message on it

All these things combined make it awesome.  I would happily add this to my tea towel collection, though I don’t think I’d have the heart to dry anything with it…
